Whoa!  There are so many ways to finish off your most prized furniture projects.  Are you confused?  When do I use wax?  When do I use a top coat... and patinas?  What the what?  This class is designed to help you understand the wheres, whens, and hows of all of the different furniture finishes out there!  During this class I will explain the differences of each finish, when layering is appropriate, and some creative ways to use each.  I will demonstrate finishes while you play along side (if you choose).  Not a DIY Paints user?  No worries, this class is applicable to most paint brands on the market!

During this demonstration style class i will walk you through each step to creating a blended, layered finish using multiple colors and adding interest with colored waxes. You will witness the process from start to finish and have opportunity to ask questions and even try it out for yourself. Class includes instruction, snacks and wine. $40

During this class you will learn how to create the most beautiful abstract art on Silk. This will be a class like no other! During this class you will learn the basics of layering contrasting styles for effect, mark making, and intuitive painting. What does that mean? You will paint layer by layer, with no plan or intention… with a little guidance and idea making, you will just let it all flow. Yes you can! Each layer will be unique and add interest to your piece… it will tell a story that only you will know. Paint in the comfort of your own home, on your own time, while listening to your favorite music. The class will be separated into sections, beginning with intention (layers 1 and 2), mark making, tools, and color burst (layers 3,4, and 5), drawing, covering, and drawing again (layers 6 and beyond).

When you sign up for this class make sure you leave your email address associated with your personal facebook account. I will use that to invite you into the private class page on facebook, named Cara’s Color Me Classroom, where you will receive a supply list and instructions. The classroom will be available to you for 1 month!

You've been asking and we finally have the space! Come visit our new dedicated classroom space at the Southern Chapel Vintage Market and learn to paint like a pro! A very creative pro that is. During this class you will paint with a least 3 paint colors to create a new piece of furniture with depth and visual interest. Cara will guide you through layering, blending, and adding more depth and color as you go. You bring your own piece of furniture (think nightstand or small dresser) and I will supply you with paint and materials and some snacks to keep you going. Take a break and have some wine and check out the horses while you are here!

Each layer will be unique as we pass our canvas around, while listening to inspiration provoking music, to create a colorful abstract masterpieces grounded in intention and creativity. If you have been painting furniture for a while now and are ready to mix it up a bit this is the class for you!!! During this class we will create an original masterpiece right on your piece of furniture. This piece will be something you can be proud of, and that will leave others saying, “Wow! How did she do that?” We will be working with Chalk Type furniture paint, acrylics, stencils, and metalics, and more to create a one of a kind piece with museum status! You choose the colors, and make decisions along the way, as I will guide you through floral formations (both vintage look, or modern pop), mixed media additions and embellishments, and composition.
